The FCC voted to gut Net Neutrality. In about 90 days, the internet will no longer be a free and open platform. If you aren’t sure what Net Neutrality is, here is a short 1 minute video
If you don’t have the minute to spare but have plenty of time to read a post on Tumblr, I’ll give a quick summary. Net Neutrality makes it so ISPs (internet service providers) can’t throttle your connection or make you pay more for a worse and worse service. They can’t make Netflix run slower forcing you to watch movies and videos on their site that they want you to use instead, for example. Net Neutrality makes it so ISPs can’t block sites they don’t agree with.
That will all disappear, you will no longer have free access to the internet in 90 days, give or take UNLESS you make your voice heard. How do you do that? You can reference my previous post to comment directly on the issue. There is also all of this:
If you want to help protect NN (net neutrality) you can support groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the ACLU and Free Press who are fighting to keep Net Neutrality.
